    The curricular unit of Sustainability and Energy Efficiency aims to provide students with a set of basic knowledge that will enable them to identify resources and alert them to the conscious/rational use of energy.

    CP1. Sustainability and Energy Efficiency          - definition, objective, motivation, solutions;       - evolution of energy needs from primitive man to the present       - techniques to contain energy consumption;       - sector where the greatest energy consumption occurs;          - globalization of the problem. CP2. Energy audits          - definition, objectives, energy labels;          - types of audits;          - types of industrial audit;          - phases of an audit;          - final report. CP3. Regulatory Audits          - Regulation of the Energy Performance of Buildings, Residential, Commercial and Services;          - energy needs of buildings;          - methodology;          - geographical identification;          - NFV;          - technical systems;          - energy class;          - certificate. CP4. Alternative energies          - importance;          - energy dependence;          - Portugal and the energy commitment;          - renewable energies. CP5. EIA        - legislation in force.

    Acquire concepts and promote the use of energy resources in a sustainable and efficient way. OA1. notion of sustainability and energy efficiency; OA2. how to make an energy resource, sustainable and efficient; OA3. energy audit: objectives, analysis and recommendations; OA4. identify alternative energy sources and their valences;             OA5. environmental impact study and legislation in force.
