A privileged space for learning and pedagogical reflection. A unique opportunity for direct contact with innovative and internationally recognised educational practices.
On 29 October, IPLUSO hosted an Open Lecture as part of the curricular unit *Pedagogies in Early Childhood*, from the 2nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education. The event was attended by Joaquim Vitor, Executive Director of Raiz International Active Learning School, and Joana Lima, Supervisor of the HighScope approach in Portugal.
This open lecture provided a privileged space for learning and pedagogical reflection, offering students a unique opportunity for direct engagement with innovative and internationally recognised educational practices. The HighScope approach, centred on active learning and children’s autonomy, was presented as an inspiring reference for future education professionals.
During the session, the possibility of a study visit to Raiz — the pilot institution for the HighScope approach — was announced, allowing students to observe in a real context the principles discussed in class. In addition, the intention to establish a cooperation protocol between IPLUSO and Raiz was highlighted, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to pedagogical innovation and high-quality education.
This learning opportunity strengthens IPLUSO’s role in promoting meaningful experiences that enrich the academic and professional development of its students, bringing them closer to transformative educational practices.
