IPLuso students took part in the WILDCAT workshop, a European initiative that uses comics to promote citizenship and youth participation
Professor Marco Fraga da Silva, at the invitation of Professor Dulce Franco, both from IPLuso – Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia, presented the WILDCAT workshop to students of the CTeSP in Child and Youth Support on January 8, 2026. Each student received a complimentary book from the Associação Tentáculo.
WILDCAT – Workshops on Illustrated Democratic Citizenship for Young AdulTs is an initiative in the field of comics, funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values Programme (CERV), involving five European partners – five associations based in the following countries: Belgium, Spain, Greece, Poland and Portugal.
The aim is to create three sequential visual narratives with the support of 1,750 young adults (ideally aged between 18 and 30) from each of these countries, resulting in three illustrated stories within three specific themes of growing importance in the European and global context: the European Green Deal (Green Deal and New European Bauhaus); Gender Equality; and Artificial Intelligence.
The project is coordinated by the European Network of Comics Representatives and Entrepeneurs, with the participation of the following partners: Alphabet Formation, Associação Tentáculo, Polikos Asteras, Polskie Stowarzyszenie Komiksowe and Sectorial del Comic.
