ProgramaProgrammeDEVELOPMENT OF FICTIONAL WORLD Notions of narrative structure, genre, worldbuilding and transmediation; PRODUCTION OF SCENARIOS Notions of architecture and biomes (aquatic, prairie, forest, desert, tundra) and their visual presentation through careful composition according to image creation rules (e.g.: rule of thirds, golden ratio); VEHICLES AND OBJECTS Notions of design and ergonomics; PRODUCTION OF COSTUMES & CHARACTERS Notions of character types (protagonist, deuteragonist, antagonist, supporting characters), character design (shape, line, asymmetry, anatomy, silhouette, proportions, scale, exaggeration, expression and gesture, color, texture); Characterization of characters (physical, psychological and social), archetype, stereotype, model sheets and turnarounds. PRODUCTION OF FANTASTIC ANIMALS/MONSTERS The natural, supernatural and mechanical/technological monster; Speculative evolution (anthropology and zoology) and cryptozoology; Transhumanism and post-humanism.

ObjectivosObjectivesGeneral objectives Study and development in the creation of characters, costumes, settings, vehicles, and objects for comics and illustrated books using both analog and digital drawing; Develop immersive fictional worlds that can enrich visual narratives and expanded, transmedia editorial projects. Specific objectives Apply the fundamental theoretical and practical principles of figure and object design; Identify the canons, characteristics, and traditions of character design, costumes, settings, vehicles, and other objects across different graphic and artistic styles; Apply the principle of externalizing internal characteristics in character creation; Be aware of the limitations of character design and other elements across different visual media and recognize narratives and characters with potential for transmedia adaptation; Distinguish between an archetype and a stereotype, and avoid or work with them in a critical, creative, and socially responsible way.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe teaching/learning process adopts a theoretical-practical approach based on the demonstration of real and practical examples; on direct contact with the technologies necessary for the production of a fictional world, characters and other visual elements relevant to comics and illustrated albums; on the development of work methodologies, research and creative processes; on the collective critical analysis at the end of the classes of all the work carried out.
