PRESENTATION

EET - School of Engineering and Technology is the organisational unit of IPLUSO - Polytechnic Institute of Lusophony dedicated to teaching and research in the fields of engineering and technology. It develops applied qualification, training, specialisation and research programmes based on methodologies and environments that foster meaningful learning. The aim is to gradually develop and expand ‘knowing’, ‘knowing how to do’ and ‘knowing how to do’, equipping students with the technical skills that will enable them to perform at a relevant level.

The EET fulfils its mission by promoting the articulation of study, education and scientific and technological research together with the provision of services, contributing to the cultural, scientific, technical and professional development of students, human resources in the community and in all countries where the Portuguese language is spoken.

The EET offers Technical Higher Professional Courses in innovative areas where it is essential to train staff with comprehensive and specialised knowledge. These courses aim to train professionals with technical and vocational profiles, without the requirement of a degree, but with high aptitudes for dealing with the constant technological evolution of the world in which we live. They provide a broad development of skills aligned with the competency profiles required by companies in an ever-changing society. They incorporate a strong link to the labour market, as they include a one-semester internship in a company for all students.

In the medium term, EET intends to develop new qualification and training programmes leading to new academic degrees in different areas of engineering and technology, especially those related to information systems, the aerospace and aeronautics sector and other essential areas of engineering, such as industrial or mechanical engineering.
