    The areas of Information Technology currently have one of the greatest needs in the professional market, and the aim of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Cybersecurity is to promote the acquisition of specific or transversal technological skills, as well as personal and entrepreneurial skills, which will enhance the employability of its recipients. Having identified the ICT area as a critical area in terms of skills to be developed and with a view to greater employability by promoting the elimination of gaps in the areas identified as sensitive, the course's syllabus aims to train professionals in a key area with great employability, focusing on the following axes: Cybersecurity, Programming and Application Development, Web Development, Database Administration, Decision Support Systems, Mobile Application Development, Networks and Big Data/Big Databases. It is in this context that the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia's Higher Professional Technical Course in Cybersecurity aims to provide trainees with the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to implement and manage cybersecurity platforms and systems in organizations, as well as to intervene on the first line in cybersecurity incidents. This is an area in constant development which increasingly needs highly qualified technicians capable of adapting to its rapid technological evolution.

    - Holders of the 12th grade or legally equivalent qualification; - Holders of CETs, CTeSPs or higher education degrees; - Over 23s - those who have passed the tests specially designed to assess their ability to attend higher education.
  • ObjectivosObjectives

    Train professional technicians capable of implementing and managing cybersecurity platforms and systems in organizations, as well as intervening on the first line in cybersecurity incidents.
  • CompetênciasCompetences

    - Design, install and configure network infrastructures based on an operating system, using the most appropriate technology (structured cabling, fiber optics, wireless networks), and the appropriate procedures and tools; - Define security levels, monitor events in cyberspace, and respond (first line) to anomalous situations and cybersecurity incidents; - Manage the tools used to carry out administrative management tasks on data networks; - Manage and support network infrastructures based on an operating system; - Manage the hardware and software required for network communication; - Manage users and computers centrally; - Install and configure operating systems (Windows or Linux-based), servers, virtualization environments, network services and peripherals, using the appropriate procedures and tools; - Install, configure and put into production cybersecurity platforms in terms of communications and perimeter security infrastructures, information technologies (web, application and database servers), and support for collaborative environments; - Plan and implement security policies and procedures for systems and information, including networks, systems and databases; - Test various security analysis techniques to ensure that cybersecurity threats are identified and mitigated.
