The course is intended to provide a solid education in the basic sciences of Computer Engineering, with a combined emphasis on Software Engineering and Information Systems. The objectives of this degree are structured the acquisition and application of knowledge, the ability to analyse and solve problems, effective communication and autonomous learning; application of acquired knowledge, demonstrating competences for understanding and solving problems in these areas; mastering information processing tools, adapting information management to the context of the different curricular areas, with special emphasis on supporting decision-making; developing solutions to new and complex problems using the appropriate environments for each situation.

This degree programme is open to students who have applied through an institutional entrance examination and who have taken one of the following sets of tests: 16 Maths 07 Physics and Chemistry or 16 Maths 18 Portuguese or 16 Maths 04 Economics or 02 Biology and Geology 16 Maths or 10 Descriptive Geometry 16 Maths

- Solid conceptual training recognised by the business community; - Apply the knowledge acquired in the different curricular areas, demonstrating competences for understanding and solving problems in these areas; - Master information processing tools, adapting information management to the context of the different curricular areas, with special emphasis on supporting decision-making; - Communicate the results of research and projects clearly and effectively; - Develop solutions to new and complex problems using the appropriate environments for each situation;

- Application Software Development; - Development of Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence; - Consultancy and Project Management of Computer Systems; Innovation and Research; - Planning and execution of cybersecurity-related activities. Activities include, for example: - Development of Application Software (Management, Economy, Health, Telecommunications, Environment, Transport, Energy) among others; - Development of Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence.
