The Professional Higher Technical Course in Electrical Installations and Automation, part of the School of Engineering and Technology of the Polytechnic Institute of Lusophony, has the main objective of preparing future professionals in this area with highly competent techniques for carrying out their work. Students are confronted with a demanding teaching system that emphasizes the acquisition of skills, with the aim of acquiring the capacity for autonomous and responsible learning.

- Holders of the 12th grade or legally equivalent qualification; - Holders of CETs, CTeSPs or higher education degrees; - Over 23s - those who have passed the tests specially designed to assess their ability to attend higher education.

Train technicians capable of managing, supervising, designing and executing electrical networks and systems in a sustainable manner using automation and telecommunications resources in line with market challenges.

- Managing, executing and maintaining electrical networks and installations; - Designing motive power installations: motor protection and control; - Designing and implementing lighting installations; - Designing transformer and disconnection stations; - Calculating the voltage and power profile of an electrical network; - Design telecommunications infrastructures: regulatory aspects relating to telephone installations, data and fiber optic networks; - Developing methods for applying computer and automation solutions; - Coordinate telecommunications services with the automation and protection processes of electrical networks.

Graduates of the CTeSP in Electrical Installations and Automation will be able to organize, guide and carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of low-voltage electrical installations, medium-voltage electrical installations and industrial electrical installations, based on regulatory safety principles.
