    In a post-secondary cycle of studies in the area of ¿¿technologies and engineering, the curricular unit assumes a very relevant role, as it allows students to acquire basic knowledge for the analysis, interpretation and correct design of electrical installations in an industrial context. The Energy and Power Project unit aims to introduce essential concepts and tools in the context of knowing the components such as: circuit breakers, switches, differentials, fuses, surge arresters and their applicability, coordination and limitations. It is also intended that the student knows the concept of industrial load diagram, in order to carry out a correct analysis of the powers in games and respective dimensioning of the associated installations.

    Protection of people in power distribution: Risks in the use of electricity. Safety curves. Coordination; Selectivity; TT grounding diagram. Low voltage electrical installations: Assessment of power and location of loads; Power distribution structure, in TT scheme: Distribution networks. Dimensioning of distribution circuits and respective layouts. Electric vehicle charging stations
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    1- Preparation and analysis of the load diagram of a manufacturing unit; 2- Conception of the LV electrical distribution network of the manufacturing unit, with the correct distribution of power across the different zones of the industrial process; 3- Elaboration of single-line diagrams of the various BT panels of the manufacturing unit, applying the standards and regulations in force; 4- Verification, in accordance with the standards and regulations in force, of the guarantee of protection of people and equipment.
