    In a post-secondary study cycle in the field of technologies and engineering, this curricular unit in Electronics has as its main objective to provide students with a solid theoretical and practical training on the functioning and application of discrete electronic devices. It addresses the study and implementation of amplifier circuits, power supplies, oscillators, and energy conversion systems, which are fundamental for the design and analysis of electronic systems.

    MOSFET - Fundamentals and Analysis: Physical construction and principle of operation. Types of MOSFET: enhancement and depletion. Symbology, operating regions, and characteristic curves. Biasing and quiescent operating point (Q-point). MOSFET as a switch and as an amplifier. Small signal models, gains, and impedances. Power Devices: Slow and fast diodes. Thyristors, GTO, and Triac. Power transistors: BJT, MOSFET, and IGBT. Switching characteristics and applications. Power Supply Systems: Half-wave and full-wave rectifiers. Filtering with capacitors and inductors. Voltage regulators. Introduction to switched converters (buck, boost). Amplification and Frequency Response: High-frequency models (BJT and MOSFET). Response at low and high frequencies. Oscillators and Signal Generators: Signal generators, multivibrators, and wave shaping circuits. RC, LC, Colpitts, Hartley, and crystal oscillators. Special oscillators: VCO, VCXO, TCVCO, TCVCXO.

    To provide students with a solid training in Electronics, focused on the analysis, design, and implementation of circuits with discrete electronic devices and power supplies. To develop theoretical and practical skills in amplification, switching, signal generation, and frequency response.

    The objectives of the curriculum unit are concretized through the program contents developed in the different chapters. In addition to their presentation, using diverse resources, the aim is to foster the ability to interpret the presented situations, critical analysis, decision-making, the application of methodologies, and deductive reasoning.The concepts addressed in each chapter, through various strategies, encourage the systematic use of real circuits and systems, applied and appropriately contextualized. This teaching-learning environment promotes greater motivation and a more solid and consistent learning experience, highlighting the relevance of electronics.Practical demonstrations are conducted, both in real context and in simulation settings, complemented by practical work, with the goal of developing students' autonomy and their ability to apply knowledge.
