  With the ageing population, the change in the concept of family today and the increase in life expectancy, it has emerged that the country has created social responses to provide the population with health care. The risk of morbidity and mortality, related to the role of the caregiver, the difficulties they have to face at home with the person.  It is based on this philosophy that projects of great state investment were created by the by the Ministry of Health in Portugal, namely the National Network of Integrated Continuous Care (RNCCI) in 2006, integrated into the National Programme for the Health of Older Persons, a programme aimed at "(...) the maintenance of autonomy, independence, quality of life and overall recovery of older people, primarily at home and in their usual environment" (DGS, 2004).

  Concept of continued care and its creation; 2.         The demographic aging of the country, the chronic disease and the concept of the person in situation of dependence; 3.         The concept of family, Death and Mourning 4.         The role of the informal caregiver and its statute; 5.         Identify the composition and characterize the RNCCI based on the legal regimen and legislation; 6.         The answers that RNCCI contenpla at the present time de preenchimento obrigatório.
• ObjectivosObjectives

  Reflect what is long-term care and the reason for its creation; 2.         Describe the demographic aging of the country, the concept of family and the concept of the person in situation of dependence. 3; 3.         Mirror the role of the informal caregiver and its statute; 4.         Identify the composition and characterize the RNCCI based on the legal regimen and legislation 5.         Present the answers that RNCCI contemplates nowadays 6.         Recognize the different types (Unit of Convalescence; Unit of Medium Duration and rehabilitation; Unit of Long Duration and maintenance and teams of integrated continued care - Home) de preenchimento obrigatório.
