Imaging in Nuclear Medicine II
Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy
-
ApresentaçãoPresentationThe course represents the continuation of the study of methods and techniques in Nuclear Medicine.
-
ProgramaProgrammeNuclear Medicine procedures for the cardiovascular system Nuclear Medicine procedures for the endocrine system Nuclear Medicine procedures at oncology Nuclear Medicine procedures at infection and inflammation Other conventional NM procedures
-
ObjectivosObjectivesIt is intended that the students acquire knowledge in Nuclar Medicine (NM) imaging, enabling them to perform skillfully the technical procedures for performing NM examinations. Provide students with knowledge at NM examinations, related to the applied methodology and techniques, enabling them to identify the clinical indications, procedure aims, patient preparation, most used radiopharmaceuticals and its biodistribution, acquisition and processing parameters and technical evaluation of conventional nuclear medicine procedures, particularly at cardiovascular, central nervous and endocrine systems, as well as in oncology and infection and inflammation fields. Allow the student to be able to accurately perform conventional NM procedures, particularly at the above mentioned fields. Provide students with competencies related to methodology and technique in order to perform conventional NM examinations, particularly at the above mentioned fields.

MetodologiaMethodologyComponent T teaching methodologies include exposition and discussion. In the PL component, the contents will be demonstrated in a laboratory context and executed, under guidance, by the student himself. There will also be problem solving and issues of a theoretical and practical nature. The theoretical component (50%) consists of two written frequencies (minimum classification in each frequency of 8 points). The practical component (50%) consists of two practical assessment moments, with a minimum rating of 8 points each. A written work/report and/or oral presentation may also be used to replace or complement the assessment of the practical component. The minimum final classification for each component (T and PL) and CU is 9.5 points
