    The professional training internships, included in the Graduation in Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy, have as their main objective, to promote direct contact with the areas of professional training considered essential for the competent and up-to-date exercise of the profession of Radiology Technician, Nuclear Medicine Technician and Radiotherapy Technician. From this perspective, internships represent a professional experience for the student, properly supervised and guided, in a real work context.

    1) Radiology: Students must come into contact with at least three of these six areas. • Conventional Radiology • Mammogram • Bone Densitometry • Computed tomography • Magnetic Resonance Imaging • Angiography 2) Radiotherapy: Students must come into contact with at least one of these three areas. • External Radiotherapy • Planning Computed Tomography • Clinical Dosimetry 3) Nuclear Medicine: Students must come into contact with at least two of these four areas. • Nuclear Medicine – Gamma Chamber • Nuclear Medicine – Positron Emission Tomography • Radiopharmacy • Radionuclide Therapeutics • Nuclear Medicine Research

    • Apply the theoretical knowledge acquired, • Consolidate acquired knowledge and develop the ability to acquire new ones, • Consolidate and accumulate practical skills in the fundamental techniques of Radiology, Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine, • Develop an ethical sense and responsibility in health, • Explore the ability to analyze and solve problems.

    The classification assigned in each internship module is calculated considering the internship supervisor's assessment, with a weight of 80%, and the evaluation of the internship report, with a weight of 20%. All these assessment instruments are mandatory in nature. 1)Internship Supervisor Assessment (70%): Continuous assessment (50%) Final practical assessment (15%) Final practical assessment report (5%) 2)Evaluation by the Internship Coordinator (30%): Final internship report (15%) Internship discussion (15%)
