ApresentaçãoPresentationNursing in an equine clinic is a discipline that makes up the training of veterinary nurses and aims to make them capable of performing nursing care adapted to the care of horses. The student must be able to identify horses, identify and manage patients in critical condition and in pain, recognize the main non-infectious, traumatic, metabolic, zoonotic diseases and thus be able to assist in their prevention and resolution. It is also intended to frame the role of the veterinary nurse in a surgical team dedicated to the care of horses in a way that can help the procedures performed in this context.

MetodologiaMethodologyPractical and Tutorial. All students will actively participate in all clinical problems seen with demonstration of nursing techniques and attitudes in the clinical area of horses. The evaluation shall take the following forms: a - Continuous Assessment: Despite the strong practical component of this course, the assessment will not neglect the ability to apply theoretical knowledge. Specifically students will be assessed in relation to communication skills, teamwork, application of knowledge and proactivity. It will be even contemplated the development of a clinical action protocol. b - Final Exam: If the student does not get approval for continuous assessment may be assessed in the final exam.
