    Curricular unit that allows direct contact with nursing in pain management, the concept of pain and nociception, and the role of the veterinary nurse in analgesia.

    Notion of acute pain, chronic pain, bad adaptive pain, eg, neuropathic pain; concept of analgesia and anesthesia. Classes of opioids pure agonists, antagonists, agonists and antagonists. INES. Adjuvants (Ketamine, α-2 adrenergic, anticonvulsants, anti-depressants). Relate the various analgesic with muscle relaxants. Apply neuroleptoanalgesia protocols and know how to manage in different ways, according to the monitoring of the veterinarian. Interpretation of planning analgesic scales to plan a clinical program of assessment of pain (acute, chronic and poorly adaptive) Multimodal approaches to pain and its monitoring. Approaches to integrative disciplines to multimodal pain management (acupuncture, electroacupuntura, laser therapy, magnetic therapy and muscle stimulation). Interpretation of analgesic guidelines in palliative care. Nursing procedures in the application of multidisciplinary protocols pain.    
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    1- Know the concept of acute pain, chronic pain and maladaptive pain. 2- Know how to interpret academic concepts, such as analgesic, anesthetic and analgesia adjuvants. 3- Pharmacology in pain: NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), classes of opioids, analgesic adjuvants, muscle relaxants, antidepressants and anticonvulsants. 4- Notion of local anesthetics and types of blocks. 5- Multimodal concept of pain. 6- Integrative disciplines for the multimodal approach to pain (acupuncture, electroacupuncture, laser therapy, magnetotherapy and electromyostimulation). 7- Concept of pain in palliative care.
