ObjectivosObjectivesIn this curricular unit, solid dosage forms for oral administration, injectable preparations, dosage forms for ophthalmic, nasal and auricular application, semi-solid dosage forms, rectal and vaginal dosage forms will be studied, as well as the respective quality control tests. The different types of packaging will also be presented as well as the impact they have on the aforementioned pharmaceutical forms. In the end, students should master the concepts and terminology used in Pharmaceutical Technology, thus acquiring scientific bases and essential skills for the development of their future professional activity. At the end of this curricular unit the student must: - understand the different pharmaceutical dosage forms and the respective routes of administration; - understand the parameters used in pre-formulation studies; - distinguish and understand the role of excipients used in the formulation of dosage forms; - understand the quality control methods for each dosage form;
