    The student should understand that the knowledge of Pharmacology is fundamental to the suitability of the drug / drug to the profile of the patient (age, pathophysiological status, etc.), Correct administration (selection of routes and administration regimens), .The objective of the curricular unit is to provide students are expected to acquire specific knowledge about the drugs, which are the basis for the rational use and administration of the medicine and allow to consolidate the practical relevance of the curricular unit in the intervention of the nurse. The basic concepts of Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, systematically applied to the study of several drugs / pharmacological groupsreporting of adverse reactions, among other aspects that are fundamental to pharmacological therapeutic success. The student should be able to interpret the defined therapeutic goals; and propose plans for monitoring and teaching the patient

    This curricular unit aims at students master the basic concepts of terminology used in Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy. Comprehension the importance of inter-individual variability in drug administration and its potential toxicological impact. Know basic measures in case of drug overdose. Understand and implement the precautions to be taken when administering the drugs. Recognize the importance of bibliographic research on the safety profile of medicines in practical applicability. In this context the student need to know how to apply the principles of pharmacovigilance, detecting the occurrence of Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs), contributing to a correct and adequate use of the drug minimizing possible medication errors. Use information and communication technologies that are clear and appropriate to the practice of the profession

    In this curricular unit, the Team-based learning (TBL) methodology is used, with tasks carried out in small groups, allowing the development of the ability to analyze and apply theoretical concepts. In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.
