    The scope of this curricular unit (UC) is to provide students with specific knowledge about drugs, in terms of their pharmacological and safety profile, so that students can advise on the rational and correct use of drugs in different pathological situations, in an outpatient clinic. The student should be able to identify possible occurrences of adverse reactions resulting from the administration of a particular drug, and know how to interpret therapeutic goals, helping to adhere to the medical prescription therapy, and minimize administration errors by the patient.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
    -  Mastering the basics of terminology used in Pharmacotherapy. - Optimize therapy (prescription or non-prescription). - Check that the therapy is being used by the appropriate patient for each disease. - Check if the patient is able to take their medication properly. - Mastering the concepts and counseling techniques to the patient and / or family. - Conduct an appropriate therapeutic follow-up based on established monitoring plan during the treatment period. - Understand and apply the concept of pharmaceutical care. - Dialogue with the patient and / or family simply and concisely for the prevention of iatrogenic, the enhancement of adherence and reduction of medication errors. - Understands the Wrong implications in counseling drug administration and / or providing health care.a de preenchimento obrigatório.
