    Curricular unit with a theoretical and practical basis that aims to introduce basic concepts in animal physiotherapy and rehabilitation, regarding different movement disorders.
  • ProgramaProgramme
    Animal Rehabilitation - concept of functionality, non-invasive and integrative. Anatomic study and muscle-tendon. Atófics and fibrotic muscles - concept of range of motion. Kinesiotherapy (active, assisted and passive). Hydrotherapy - properties of water, water exercises, assessment parameters. Aerobic and anaerobic training - formation of lactic acid. Motor deficit (ataxia, paresis, plegias). Motor deficit (brainstem, cerebellum and vestibular). Rehabilitation modalities (ultrasound, shock-waves, muscle stimulation, thermotherapy, laser class IV).

    To gain knowledge in the discipline of Veterinary Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation To know how to perform an examination of functional rehabilitation To apply the orthopedic, neurological and anatomical knowledges To know how to carry out the modalities of massage and stretching To apply the neuroanatomy protocols in rehabilitation protocols Acquire knowledge on rehabilitation modalities to know how to perform rehabilitation protocols, both for polytrauma patients, intensive care patients, neurological patients, orthopedic patients and patients with musculoskeletal trauma.
