Psychology and Health Communication

  The objective of this curricular unit is to sensitize students to the different intervention models of Psychology in a clinical context, while at the same time allowing them to deepen their communication knowledge, in order to make their intervention more effective and adapted to the different circumstances and situations.

• ObjectivosObjectives

  * Understand the theories and models of communication studies. * Analyze the individual (developmental and personality), psychosocial and cultural elements that influence communication. Emotions and communication. * Know is own style of communication, in a way to improve it. * Study the different communication situations that could happen in a consultation context. * Learn how to solve the difficulties and resistance in change behavior when the prescription of healthy lifestyles. * Learn how to resolve difficult communication situations and conflicts. * Develop the capacity to use communication theories in the professional context, namely consultation. * Amplify the skill to obtain the patient adherence to the healthy lifestyle prescription. * Develop the skill to the resolution of problematic communication situations or conflicts.
