  This curricular unit aims to provide methodological tools specific to research in Drawing developing theoretical and practical knowledge for conducting projects and research with scientific accuracy.

  1. Research 1.1. Academic research and UI&D. Scholarships, applications, and funding. Institutions linked to the technical and artistic areas of drawing. Research models. 1.2. Researching in drawing: discourse on production; case studies and examples applied to different approaches. 2. Methodologies 2.1. Research platforms: literature, publication, and bibliometrics. Organization of literature. Reading and note-taking methods. 2.2. Structuring a research question; preparing a conference paper; writing a scientific article; citation guide and methods; curriculum vitae, portfolio, biography, and descriptive report; methods for documenting technical and artistic processes.
• ObjectivosObjectives

  This course aims to equip master's students with specific methodological tools for research in Drawing, in its different aspects. It provides an understanding of the current research landscape, its definition, methodologies, and surrounding issues, at the national and international levels, focusing on the specific case of research in an artistic and design context. It is intended that students develop autonomy to conduct their projects and investigations with scientific rigor, through the development of comprehension, research, and critical reading skills, their own effective study methods, and tools for writing and constructing arguments. It also seeks to enable each student to understand their own artistic or technical process and to develop the means that allow them to translate, explore, and share this process in a critical and relevant way within the scientific community.

• MetodologiaMethodology

  The teaching methodology of this course unit is based on a theoretical-practical approach, through the presentation of content in class, complemented by audiovisual materials, bibliography, and support resources prepared in advance by the professor (presentations, guides, reference lists), made available through institutional means and discussed later in class. Practical exercises are also carried out, oriented towards investigation and the specific needs of each student according to their area of ¿¿drawing, simulating the steps necessary for the completion of the Dissertation/Final Project Work, as determined in a Statement presented at the beginning of the semester. This work is also informed by presentations made in conjunction with professionals in the field invited to the classes. Time is also reserved for tutorial guidance, both in person and by email.
