Submission of requests for opinions to the Ethics Committee
Ethical conduct in scientific research implies the application of principles, standards and guidelines of good practice, ensuring compliance with current legislation in all areas of research, especially clinical and human research. All research projects must be presented in a clear, objective and feasible manner. The text must demonstrate that the rights, interests, safety and well-being of the research subjects are promoted and preserved. The methodological approach selected must ensure that reliable results are obtained. It must be remembered that the research results are intended to produce knowledge that facilitates decision-making, which is so crucial in the area of health and people. Therefore, embarking on a research project requires responsibility not only throughout all its stages: conceptual, methodological and empirical, but also in the dissemination of its results. The ERISA Ethics Committee's opinion will be in accordance with ethical norms and standards, applicable legislation, national and international conventions and declarations, national authorisations and ethical approvals, with the imperative of protecting the dignity and integrity of all those involved at the different stages of the research process. ERISA's Ethics Committee will endeavour to assess requests for opinions that are submitted no later than seven days before the regular monthly meeting. If this does not happen, the requests will be considered until the following meeting.
