Understanding Babies to Transform Early Childhood Educational Practices

The quality of education and care in early childhood settings depends, to a large extent, on how we understand babies: as competent, active, relational beings who participate from birth. This seminar proposes a critical and scientifically grounded reflection on educational practices for babies aged 0 to 3, bringing together specialists from the fields of Education, Psychology, Neuroscience and Health.

In a space for transdisciplinary dialogue, the latest research contributions to understanding development, learning, play, relationships, well-being, participation and educational environments in early childhood will be discussed, promoting the articulation of scientific knowledge, professional practice and public policies aimed at babies and their families.

Aimed at early childhood educators, teachers, researchers, students, healthcare professionals, policymakers and other professionals working with babies and families, the seminar seeks to promote an integrated understanding of babies and contribute to the development of more conscious educational practices, grounded in scientific evidence and centred on the baby.
