Students and lecturers from ECIA represented IPLUSO at ILUSTRAFEST 2026 in Madrid, strengthening international academic cooperation in higher education.

Between 15 and 18 April 2026, the work of students and lecturers from the ECIA – School of Communication, Innovation and Arts was featured at ILUSTRAFEST – Feria de la Ilustración de Madrid, one of the leading events dedicated to illustration in the Spanish capital.

Curated by Inmaculada Corcho, director of the Museo ABC de Dibujo e Ilustración, and co-directed by Juan Carlos Gaulie and Javier Chavarría, the event took place in collaboration with El Duende magazine as part of IlustraWeek – Madrid Illustration Week.

The ECIA Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration and Drawing joined a group of international guests alongside prestigious higher education institutions such as the Akademia Sztuk Pięknych and the School of Visual Arts. IPLUSO’s participation resulted from an invitation by UDIT – Universidad de Diseño, Innovación y Tecnología and represents a source of pride for the institution.

During the event, IPLUSO was represented through an illustration exhibition, as well as a space dedicated to showcasing small publications developed by ECIA students.

The ILUSTRAFEST programme included conferences, debates and portfolio presentations. On 17 April, ECIA students present in Madrid delivered a public presentation of their work and academic journey.

The participation also marked the celebration of a mobility agreement between IPLUSO and UDIT, strengthening academic and international cooperation between the two institutions.
