Discover the new network that opens up a wide range of opportunities for academic and research projects in technological areas at the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia
The Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) has implemented an Internet of Things (IoT) network with Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) technology at the Palácio do Vimioso, in Campo Grande, driving innovation and strengthening the position of the School of Engineering and Technology (EET) in the Internet of Things (IoT).
Benefits of LoRaWAN Technology
LoRaWAN technology is a wireless communication protocol that allows IoT devices to connect over long distances with low energy consumption.
IoT enables the interconnection of devices for real-time data collection and transmission, facilitating process automation and monitoring.
Integration with The Things Network (TTN)
The new infrastructure, integrated with The Things Network (TTN), enables data storage and management in the cloud. EET students will be able to develop and test innovative solutions, expanding their practical experience.
Academic and Research Impact
The network will support projects in areas such as environmental monitoring, agriculture, and smart cities, as well as Industry 4.0 and 5.0. This initiative strengthens innovation at IPLUSO and the training of professionals qualified for the future of IoT.
