The session fostered collaboration among lecturers and presented the CIPLUSO strategy to strengthen applied research.
On 15 July, the Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) brought together its academic staff for a session dedicated to the development of the CIPLUSO – IPLUSO Research Centre, reinforcing research as a strategic pillar of the institution's mission.
Convened by the President of IPLUSO and organised in collaboration with CIPLUSO, the meeting presented the Centre's scientific strategy, its main research areas and the initial research groups, marking the beginning of a new phase in consolidating the institution's scientific activity.
In addition to presenting the strategy, the session aimed to bring together lecturers from different schools and academic disciplines, creating opportunities to identify shared interests, encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and promote the development of new projects focused on scientific and societal challenges.
With a strong emphasis on applied research, CIPLUSO seeks to connect the knowledge produced at IPLUSO with the real needs of people, organisations and communities. This integration of research, teaching and society contributes to enhancing the quality of education, creating new opportunities for student participation and supporting the development of solutions with scientific, professional and social impact.
The initiative represented an important step towards building a more collaborative, cross-disciplinary and visible research culture across the entire IPLUSO academic community.
Over the coming months, CIPLUSO will continue this work by encouraging collaboration between lecturers with shared research interests and supporting the development of new ideas, projects and partnerships that strengthen the institution's research and innovation capacity.
