IPLUSO hosts first BICOREP consortium meeting to launch Erasmus Mundus Master’s in Bioinformatics applied to Public Health in Europe
The Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (IPLUSO) hosted, in Lisbon, the first in-person meeting of the international consortium of the BICOREP – Bioinformatics applied to Clinical Research and Public Health project, funded by the European Commission under the preparatory actions of the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s (EMDM).
The project brings together an international consortium composed of Instituto Politécnico da Lusofonia (Portugal), Universidade Estadual de Santa Cruz (Brazil), Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Latvia) and Université Évry Paris-Saclay (France).
The aim is to develop an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Bioinformatics applied to Clinical Research and Public Health, addressing strategic challenges in the European health sector, such as biomedical data analysis, personalized medicine and the sustainability of healthcare systems.
This meeting made it possible to advance the design of the joint programme, strengthen cooperation between partner institutions and prepare the future application to the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s, consolidating IPLUSO’s role in internationalisation and in the development of high-impact European projects.
