The chronicles bring together analyses of some of the most dangerous criminals in world history through a multidisciplinary perspective
"Crimes with History" is the title of a new weekly column published in Revista Domingo (the Sunday supplement of the newspaper Correio da Manhã), running from 7 June to 13 September 2026.
The project spans 15 weeks and consists of a series of dossiers focused on providing detailed analyses of some of the most significant and dangerous crimes and criminals in the history of global criminology.
Authored by Prof. Dr Paulo Sargento (Lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Lusófona University, Associate Researcher at CEAD Francisco Suarez, and Director of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Forensic and Criminal Laboratory at ERISA – Escola Superior de Saúde Ribeiro Sanches of IPLUSO), Dr Carlos Anjos (former Chief Inspector of the Judicial Police, lecturer on the aforementioned CTeSP programme and guest lecturer on the Postgraduate Programme in Criminology and Criminal Investigation), and Master Manuel Maria Rodrigues (former Chief Inspector of the Judicial Police and former President of ASFIG).
The chronicles cover well-known cases, focusing on detailed analyses of serial killers, mass killers, rapists and paedophiles.
Through a multidisciplinary perspective, each dossier combines the analysis of real events with the complexities of the original criminal investigations, while also outlining the psychological profile and motivations of the offender.
The first instalment of the series was dedicated to Ted Bundy, the infamous American serial killer, referred to by the authors in this chronicle as "The Killer Adonis" due to his profile.
