Project brings the community closer to the importance of protecting Portuguese wildlife
In the “Avós e Netos” segment on Correio da Manhã Rádio, listeners had the opportunity to learn more closely about the research work developed on the Iberian wolf, one of the most emblematic species of the fauna of the Iberian Peninsula, by the School of Education of Lusófona (ESEL) of IPLUSO.
The broadcast, aired on 26 May, featured Professor Paulo Sargento, host of the segment and also a researcher on the project “Iberian Wolf: Between Myths and Realities”.
The programme was dedicated to the dissemination of this important research project, which seeks to deepen scientific knowledge about the Iberian wolf, contributing to the debunking of beliefs and to the appreciation of this species of high ecological and cultural interest. The project is led by lecturer Dulce Franco and seeks to promote scientific knowledge about the Iberian wolf, contributing to its conservation and to raising awareness in society about the importance of this species in natural ecosystems.
During his intervention, the presenter highlighted the main objectives of the project, which seek to deepen scientific knowledge about the ecology, the conservation of the Iberian wolf (Canis lupus signatus) and existing myths.
