IPLUSO took part in the event, contributing to the discussion of sustainable and inclusive solutions for the community.
IPLUSO was represented at the seminar “Financial Sustainability: Pathways and Efficiency for the Future of Residential Care Facilities for Older People” through the participation of Professor Paulo Sargento, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to the community and to promoting innovative responses to the challenges of ageing.
Held on 6 May at the Oeiras Social Centre of the Armed Forces Social Action Institute, the event brought together experts and professionals to reflect on the current challenges facing Residential Care Facilities for Older People (ERPI), discussing solutions that can contribute to the more efficient and sustainable management of these social services.
As part of a panel dedicated to the financial situation of ERPIs, Paulo Sargento presented a set of guiding principles from the project “Old? Only the Rags! Promoting the Status of Older Citizens Against an Ageist Society!”, an initiative aimed at valuing older people’s citizenship and combating ageism.
The lecturer’s participation highlights how IPLUSO actively contributes to discussions on socially relevant issues, promoting knowledge transfer to the community and strengthening ties between academia, institutions and citizens.
