    Objectives: To provide a solid and comprehensive training in Chinese language and culture. The aim is to acquire communication skills in Mandarin at HSK II level. It prepares you for interactions in Mandarin at pre-intermediate level and gives you a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese cultural heritage.

Acquisition of Mandarin writing and speaking skills and general Chinese culture (Chinese mythology, Chinese folk traditions, Chinese arts, Chinese literature, China's cultural legacy, Chinese philosophy).
At the end of the postgraduate course, students have the option of enrolling in a free course in Mandarin Level HSK III (after school hours), lasting one academic year.
Students can also complement this postgraduate course with the optional HSK II Chinese Language Proficiency Exam, organised by Hanban.
This can be done every six months at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon for ¿15 (reference date 2024).

    Candidates must submit a Certificate of Qualifications or equivalent and a Curriculum Vitae. An interview will be held in the event of a tie.

    The Postgraduate Programme in Mandarin and Chinese Culture aims to provide linguistic and cultural skills about China.

    Holders of a bachelor's degree or equivalent interested in developing competence in the Chinese language (Mandarin) and culture.

    Provide a solid and comprehensive training in Chinese language and culture. Communicative skills in Mandarin at HSK II level, through teaching focussed on phonetics, vocabulary, listening comprehension and the most important grammatical structures. By the end of the programme, students will be prepared for interactions in Mandarin at pre-intermediate level and will have a comprehensive knowledge of Chinese cultural heritage.

    Translation and interpreting (as a basis), international relations, cultural consultancy, academic research, tourism and the organisation of cultural events. Professional activities in the field of communication, media and marketing associated with China are also covered.
