Student Ombudsman

IPLUSO Student Ombudsman The Student Ombudsman is an independent body whose role is to defend and promote the legitimate rights and interests of IPLuso students.

The Student Ombudsman develops appropriate initiatives to resolve the issues raised, promoting dialogue and finding solutions with those involved, in cooperation with the academic community (bodies, services and individuals), respecting the established rules and subject to a commitment to confidentiality.

Contact with the Student Ombudsman's Office is always welcomed. However, before doing so, it is advisable for students to first approach those directly responsible, seeking clarification and, if the situation persists, to raise the matter with the ombudsman, indicating the outcome they would like to see achieved.

For more detailed information, please consult the IPLuso Student Ombudsman Regulations.

When should I contact the Ombudsman?

You can turn to the Student Ombudsman whenever all communications have been exhausted, whenever problems persist or when issues are particularly complex, requiring exceptional reasoning.

The Student Ombudsman is also available to mediate a solution with local resources, in situations that involve discreet, patient, informal, but always independent, impartial and confidential mediation.

Students can individually or collectively submit complaints, requests for support and queries to the Ombudsman, as well as make suggestions, namely on pedagogical, academic or social action issues.

Contacts with the Ombudsman can be formalised via an online form.

The Ombudsman is also available for face-to-face consultations, by prior appointment via email to provedor@ipluso.pt
