ApresentaçãoPresentationThe Biomedical Informatics Curricular Unit was designed to respond to the growing need to integrate bioinformatics skills into health activities, particularly in the context of health technologies. The UC comprises a total of 45 teaching hours, divided into 30 theoretical teaching hours and 15 laboratory teaching hours.

ObjectivosObjectivesTo understand the importance of Bioinformatics in Radiology To acquire SQL database structuring/ analysis skills for scientific studies in the field of medical science To apply and understand database concepts for genomic studies To acquire basic programming skills in Matlab, particularly where radiologic image analysis is concerned To know and implement basic optimization algorithms in Matlab To understand what “optimization” and “learning” mean in an informatic context To relate algorithms and biology, so that concepts are clinically viable To apply the learned concepts to real biomedical imaging research cases
