ApresentaçãoPresentationThis CU is an exploratory and introductory approach to the universe of engraving, stamping and printing. Various experiences related to engraving, stamping or printing are developed, with particular emphasis on digital and manual techniques, simple and non-toxic, which students can perform later without press or other specific equipment.

ProgramaProgrammeStudy and application of printmaking, stamping, and printing techniques. Analysis of graphic representation strategies in drawing, with a focus on their reproduction through stamping, linocut and printing processes. 1. Introduction to Printmaking and Stamping . Construction of stamps and development of block printing exercises; . Exploration of relief printing techniques, including collagraphy (additive processes) and linocut (subtractive processes); . Study of processes, materials, tools, and technical terminology; . Development of drawings and planning of graphic work; . Printing processes and graphic experimentation. 2. Introduction to Printing . Introduction to printing through the use of cardboard or plastic masks (stencil techniques); . Study of materials and techniques; . Development of drawings for printing matrices; . Printing processes and finishing techniques. 3. Design and production of a graphic object using the techniques learned.

ObjectivosObjectivesTo provide knowledge of the history and specificities of manual and digital printing techniques; To develop, through practical work, printing techniques in stencil, stamping and linocut. To know the specific terminology of the techniques introduced (processes, instruments, materials, concepts); To promote experimentation and discovery in the printing processes introduced, through the artistic exercise of composition, color, multilayers. Experiment with different media and real notions of applicability.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe syllabus will always be developed in practical exercises, progressing from simple situations to more complex practices. An attitude of permanent experimentation is favored during classes, using the materials and techniques proposed by the teacher. All work is preceded by explanatory introductions using practical demonstrations, books and audiovisual media.
