ApresentaçãoPresentationThis CU aims to: Strengthen students' ability to reflect critically on the topics covered, as well as their vocabulary range and fluency in English. Develop students' ability to present points of view, orally in written, in English, using suitable language for emphasis, clarity and politeness. Consolidate student's ability to gather and process information in English on topics pertaining to theirarea of education. Provide students with the tools that will enable them to participate in meetings effectively, understanding the goals and key elements of a meeting, the role of the chair, relevant language for submitting proposals, agreeing and disagreeing cordially and empathetically, asking for clarification, interrupting politely.

ProgramaProgramme1. Tourismo today and trends in tourism (adventure tourism; dark tourism; niche tourism; etc). 2. Event management. 3. Risk management in tourism-related companies. 4. Airports. 5. Functional English - Professional meetings - preparation, key elements, the role of the chair, how to begin and end. Suitable language for the different types of interactions (making proposals, giving opinion, agreeing and disagreeing, interrupting, asking for clarification).

ObjectivosObjectivesThe main competencies to be acquired are: The ability to express him/herself fluently, clearly and concisely; The ability to prepare, chair and/or participate in a professional meeting, considering its goals and key elements, as well as suitable language for the different interactions. The ability to apply acquired knowledge in the discussion of ideas and proposals related to relevant areas of the Tourism industry, orally and in writing.

Short lectures associated with audiovisual resources and demonstrations (real or simulations and recordings), individual and small group activities with cases for discussion and proposals, videos, debates. Such an exhibition will stimulate students to think, debate ideas, collaborate with each other and develop deep learning.
