Immunohemotherapy

Biomedical Laboratory Sciences
  • ApresentaçãoPresentation
The safety of hospital treatment and the effectiveness of care provided are a major concern of health systems. Blood is a human tissue and a precious and scarce reserve for the needs in blood and components, the availability of which depends on voluntary donation. In the course of Immunohemotherapy, it is intended to address, in a generalized way, the problem of transfusion medicine
  • ProgramaProgramme
Collection, Processing and Blood Storage Selection of blood donors; Taking of blood donors Blood components and obtaining Theoretical bases of blood transfusion Applications of serological principles in transfusion practice Concepts in transfusion practice. Blood Group - Basics Notions Systems of blood groups Other endpoints immuno-hemotherapy Pre-transfusion tests Clinical considerations in transfusion practice Quality Control for Blood Banks and Transfusion Services
  • ObjectivosObjectives
Understand the various blood transfusion systems and their importance. Know the red cell antigens function and anti-red cell antibodies. Understand the importance of the different blood components in transfusion medicine. Understand the importance of transfusion laboratory in optics. Know the conventional techniques, equipment and reagents in vitro diagnostic use. Know the risk and possibly serious consequences involving pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phase. Demonstrate both theoretical and practical skills in obtaining blood component, either in the pre-transfusion studies in order to obtain optimal results.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.
