    The Curricular Unit "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" focuses on awakening and cultivating the entrepreneurial mentality, integrating the innovative spirit with technical skills specific to each area. The field of action of this UC ranges from identifying market opportunities, developing innovative ideas, to materializing these ideas into digital products or services. The intervention domain covers management concepts, digital marketing, rapid prototyping and validation of business models. In the current context of rapid digitalization and constant technological evolution, having skills in entrepreneurship and innovation is crucial. With a view to developing web, mobile and computer applications oriented towards data science, this UC assumes a unique relevance: it equips students not only to be technical professionals, but also leaders and innovators in the digital world.

    Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship: History, characteristics of the entrepreneur and types of entrepreneurship. Identification of Opportunities: Market analysis, research and recognition of unexplored niches. Development of Innovative Ideas: Brainstorming, validation and prototyping techniques. Business Models: Introduction to the Business Model Canvas, monetization and scalability strategies. Digital Marketing: SEO, online advertising, social networks and metrics analysis. Financing and Investment: Sources of capital, pitching and investor relations. Project Management and Leadership: Tools, agile methodologies and team management. Challenges and Case Studies: Analysis of successful startups and lessons learned.

    Knowledge: Students will acquire an understanding of the fundamental principles of entrepreneurship and innovation, becoming familiar with the process of identifying opportunities, developing and validating ideas. Skills: They will develop skills to create and validate business models, rapid prototyping of digital products or services, and application of appropriate digital marketing strategies. Competences: They will be trained to lead innovative projects, make informed strategic decisions and adapt to constantly changing environments. Students will also be prepared to face market challenges, creating valuable technological solutions, and positioning themselves not just as technicians, but as true leaders and innovators in the digital industry.
