Integrated Expressions Workshop

     This Curricular Unit aims to build pedagogical models in the approach to expressions in an integrated way, contributing to the holistic training of children in the context of daycare and kindergarten. Experts will be invited in the areas of the UC that enable students to expand professional knowledge in the field that provides students with experiences in the professional field. 
  • ProgramaProgramme
    1) Teaching expressions: -Different pedagogical models; -Planning, monitoring and evaluation;  2)Educational experiences in art education and physical education suitable for children aged 0-3 and 3-6: -Artistic education: tools and techniques; artistic manifestations of expression, communication, representation and understanding of the world; artistic languages (visual arts, dramatic play/theatre, music and dance); art and artistic culture. -Physical education: development of motor skills; body awareness; relationships with others; and with different spaces and materials.   3) Educational intervention strategies in the field of art education and physical education in nursery and kindergarten settings.   4) An integrated and globalised approach to the different content areas of the Curriculum Curriculum Guidelines for Pre-School Education 5) Research and adaptation of projects in different educational contexts.  
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    Identify and understand the expressions as an instrument for developing transversal competences in children. Know and mobilise the main pedagogical guidelines for intervention in the field of expressions (artistic, physical-motor, musical, dramatic). Understand the importance of expressions for the development of physical exercise and aesthetic sensitivity. Be able to plan expressive practices integrated into the field of early childhood education. Be able to plan and build games, theatres, teaching resources and activities within the scope of Artistic Expressions, aimed at the various age groups of children. Be able to integrate the different expressions into the curriculum in a nursery and kindergarten context.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    Problem-Based Learning, as an educational methodology centered on the student, understands the importance of their leading role in the construction of their knowledge. Conceptual, procedural, behavioral and research issues will be addressed. In theoretical-practical classes, research and collection of materials and documents will be carried out to create activities that fit into the different expressions. Several activities will be proposed: visits to the theater museum, visits to exhibitions, trips to the theater, as well as physical activities in contact with nature. Through debate, document analysis and active pedagogies, students will be challenged to develop projects that mobilize technical and theoretical concepts worked on in this UC, which can be operationalized in a daycare and kindergarten context. Specialists will be invited to encourage dialogue, debate and conceptual and practical enrichment.
