Nursing Research I

  This course unit aims to enable the students with various fundamental skills that contribute to the development of academic, personal, professional, and nursing research skills: Research and analysis skills   Critical thinking skills   Technical and methodological skills   Communication skills   Teamwork and collaboration skills   Time management and autonomy skills   Ethical skills   It is expected that the student will develop a research project in a theoretical-practical context, facilitating the integration of the content presented and discussed in the theoretical classes. In Nursing Research I, the project will include both the conceptual and methodological stages.

  Develop the ability to critically analyze and synthesize available evidence and information; Understand key concepts in research and nursing; Acquire knowledge about the evolution of nursing as a discipline and science. Understand the stages of the research process; Identify the integrative elements of each stage of the research process; Comprehend the research journey and select the appropriate techniques and tools for each paradigmatic approach; Respect the ethical principles of research; Understand the value of scientific evidence in helping to understand the response to life processes of individuals, families, and communities receiving care; Recognize the relevance of developing evidence through research. Know how to design a research project in a care-related area and carry it out through its different stages. Learn how to share results.

• MetodologiaMethodology

  The introduced methodologies considered innovative are: Problem-Based Learning (PBL) - starting from a real identified problem, students are challenged to formulate research questions, select methods, and produce evidence to answer the problem.   Project-Based Learning - The course is organized around a research project developed over the semester, with progressive deliverables: problem, literature review, question/hypotheses, methodology, data collection and analysis, results, communication.
