ApresentaçãoPresentationThe Portfolio is an indispensable professional tool for promoting an arts professional. In this UC, students will acquire the necessary skills to create an efficient, professional and attractive portfolio, as well as methodological strategies of organization, communication and professional promotion.

ProgramaProgramme• File and Portfolio Management; • The Portfolio Concept: definition, functions and utility; • Design of Digital and Printed Layouts using Adobe InDesign (Interface, editing tools, grids, frames, masters, text formatting, image and objects); • Design of Web Layouts using website building platforms; • Practical Use of Portfolios according to the presentation context; • General rules for preparing presentation texts (CV, biographies, artist's statements, motivation letters); • Communication strategies (Research, means of presenting and disseminating work, contact networks).

ObjectivosObjectivesThis UC has the following specific objectives: • to provide methodological skills and strategies for organizing and updating digital files and portfolios of author’s work according to different objectives; • to provide selection, organization and visual composition skills, as well as graphic design techniques necessary for the design of printed, digital and web documents (portfolio, business card, website); • to acquire skills in writing that are effective, attractive and coherent in order to create CVs, bios, artists statements according to different contexts; • To know and to apply communication strategies and work promotion using online media: artistic/creative community platforms, e-mail, social networks.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe teaching methodologies of this CU are essentially demonstrative and practical, complemented with theoretical and technical frameworks, while combining the presentation of several examples of CV and portfolios with practical exercises and projects both in classroom and at home. Lesson planning is structured in order to allow students to gradually learn the basics of Adobe InDesign, while learning aspects of composition, color, readability, as well as writing different types of presentation texts. The entire learning process is guided by the teacher’s monitoring and feedback.
