Basic Education students from ESEL attended a theatre performance as a pedagogical, artistic, and critical reflection experience, based on a contemporary reinterpretation of "Sleeping Beauty".
On March 25, 2026, the 1st-year class of the Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education from the Lusofonia School of Education (ESEL) – IPLUSO visited LU.CA – Luís de Camões Theatre to attend the performance Another Sleeping Beauty, accompanied by Professor Sandra Duarte Tavares.
The play offers a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic Sleeping Beauty, deconstructing the traditional narrative and introducing new perspectives and interpretations aligned with the concerns of today’s audiences.
This initiative was part of the students’ academic training, providing direct contact with artistic practices and reinforcing the importance of theatre as a pedagogical resource and a tool for critical reflection.
