International programme offers advanced laboratory training and cultural exchange
Student Margarida Bacelar Marques de Figueiredo Luís, from the Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences at the Polytechnic Institute of Lusophony (IPLUSO), has been selected to take part in the prestigious Westlake University Summer Camp 2025, in Hangzhou, China.
The programme, which will run from 23 July to 6 August 2025, is fully funded and aimed at outstanding undergraduate students in the Life Sciences. Over two weeks, participants will have access to cutting-edge laboratory experiences, training with international researchers, and cultural exchange activities within one of Asia’s most innovative scientific ecosystems.
The selection of student Margarida Luís represents an important milestone in the affirmation of IPLUSO’s academic talent at the international level, reflecting the institution’s ongoing investment in global opportunities for its students. This programme is conducted entirely in English and provides a platform for direct engagement with frontier science, while fostering the development of transversal skills, collaborative spirit, and intercultural openness.
