Dialogue between Theory and Practice: Phonological Awareness and Fine Motor Skills in Early Childhood Education
On 15 December, second-year students of the Master’s in Early Childhood Education and Primary Education, within the framework of the course "Portfolio of Experiences II," had the opportunity to participate in a conversation with Dr. Sofia Brás Monteiro, Senior Specialist in Special Education and Rehabilitation, and Speech Therapist, in a session that fostered the connection between higher education and professional practice.
During the meeting, focused on the importance of developing phonological awareness and fine motor skills for reading and writing acquisition, the guest shared knowledge on the concepts, their relevance, as well as practical intervention examples. The session also included a dialogue space, allowing students to clarify doubts arising from their own internship experiences and deepen their understanding.
