Democratic citizenship, artistic expression and the active participation of young adults
On 12 December 2025, the 3rd-year cohort of the Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education, within the curricular unit Integration of Expressive Practices, hosted the project WILDCAT – Workshops on Illustrated Democratic Citizenship for Young AdulTs.
Marco Fraga da Silva facilitated the collaborative comic strip session, which aimed to create three narratives for visual production in comics.
The WILDCAT project, organised in Portugal by Associação Tentáculo, is responsible for delivering several events in which young adults discuss three themes (one per group): the European Green Deal (Green Deal and New European Bauhaus); Gender Equality; and Artificial Intelligence. The project is a collective endeavour involving the partners Alphabet Formation, Associação Tentáculo, Polikos Asteras, Polskie Stowarzyszenie Komiksowe and Sectorial del Comic, and brings together five European partners based in Belgium, Spain, Greece, Poland and Portugal.
Associação Tentáculo offered each participant of the Bachelor’s Degree in Basic Education a colouring book entitled "Monstros Urbanos", which they were able to work on at the end of the session.
